The IBC (International Baptist Church) Bremen has
its roots in an English speaking church serving American military
personnel stationed in Osterholz -Scharmbeck. In 1991, as the military was
withdrawn back to the United States, the church ministries began to focus
on the growing International presence in the city of Bremen. The work
began through the guidance of Southern Baptist Missionaries conducting
services once a month. Over the recent years Sunday worship services meet
weekly. Wednesday Bible studies and prayer meeting have a growing
attendance. Many of the congregations African believers meet regularly on
Saturdays for intercessary prayer time. Since 1991 IBC Bremen has had over
forty nationalities represented. On any Sunday there will be upwards of
seventeen nations represented in the worship. The IBC fellowship is a
friendly and open congregation pursuing opportunities for worship and
Christian growth based on the eternal word of God. Church services are
conducted in English. Music consists of a mixture of hymns and praises
inspired by our international fellowship. The church enjoys the support of
not only international residents but also several German families. This
support is invaluable to the many international members as they learn to
integrate to the German language and culture.
The International Baptist Church is a member of the
European Baptist Convention and an associate member of the German Baptist
Union. |
